Melton Indoor Bowls Club like most clubs depends on volunteers to help manage bowling activities. In 1999 with a membership database that needed expert support every year and spreadsheets for leagues and more for competitions plus another database for club fixtures, one member who was a major support left the club.

Things had to change. All bowling functions needed to be integrated in one system, making support easier, giving a common interface and removing the need for duplicate data.

Taking the integration route allows for many more functions to be included easily, one is recording league team members and how many times in a season each plays, with a click you can see which leagues and competitions a member has joined, you will be warned when entering a member into a league or competition if that members subs are overdue, there are many more examples.

Greatly reduced time taken to manage all bowling activities has been a major benefit of the system.

The club now has a web site that gets updated by the system without effort from members. There is the facility to include general information pages plus you can create your own front page to customize the site appearance with additional information.

An additional feature is 'Events'. This can be used for events such as the annual E.I.B.A.national finals. All competitions are entered and the scores are displayed around the venue. This feature can be used for any event that includes players from other clubs.
